RCI Vacation Timeshares - Enjoy Vacation Bargains With RCI Timeshare Resales

RCI vacation timeshares are probably some of the best vacation opportunities in the timeshare industry. RCI stands for Resort Condominiums International and it is the largest of the timeshare resort networks. While RCI isn’t in the business of developing resorts themselves, they’ve created an opportunity for other developers to affiliate with their exchange service so that timeshare owners are easily able to exchange their own resort weeks (or points) in order to vacation someplace new. There are over 4000 resorts currently affiliated with RCI so it leaves room for lots of timeshare vacation options.
One of the best ways to enjoy a vacation bargain is to buy a timeshare resale that is affiliated with RCI. With resale prices on timeshare often being between 50-75% off what the developers sell the same resort for, it makes more sense to buy a timeshare resale than it does to pay full retail for it. And if you do your shopping right you can find a resort for decent sales price and, maybe more importantly, a low yearly maintenance fee.
Once you’ve paid for your timeshare, it is the maintenance fee that is going to stick with you year after year. So if you’re just looking to buy a timeshare in order to get access to the RCI exchange network then you want to take that fee into consideration as you are considering what resort to buy. Just be careful that you don’t bargain hunt yourself into a position where you can’t exchange your home resort for any place decent.
While finding a timeshare with a low maintenance fee is important, you also want to make sure you buy a timeshare that is going to be desirable with RCI’s other members. So look for an RCI timeshare resale in a desirable vacation location at the right time of year. In other words, if you want the best exchange opportunities, buy during the high season. I think you’ll find it is really not much more expensive than buying a low season week, especially since timeshare resales can be priced so low. It just may take a bit of patience.
Take Advantage of RCI Points!
While shopping for your RCI timeshare resale, be sure to keep an eye out for a resort that has been converted to the RCI points program. RCI points will significantly enhance how you use your timeshare because, for exchange purposes, your week is converted to a points value within RCI and this will allow you to take shorter vacations, longer vacation and vacations that start at a different day of the week. While many regular “week” resorts are based on Sunday to Sunday or Saturday to Saturday stays, RCI points gives you more flexibility to go on vacation when you want to go instead of having your dates dictated by someone else’s schedule.
RCI points can also be used for things like airfare, theme park tickets and other things that you might want for your vacation, so you’ll find the flexibility does a lot to make your vacations the best they can be.
But not every RCI-affiliated resort is part of the RCI points program, so if you are thinking that the having a points membership makes the most sense for you, you’ll want to look for RCI vacation timeshares that have already been converted to points. That will work out to be the best vacation bargain for you!
